Motherhood changed me early.
At 17, I became a mother to my son, Kevin. Motherhood wasn’t something I had planned that young, but I loved being his mom.
At 19, after completing my freshman year of college, my two-year-old son was hit and killed by a car.
After losing Kevin, I promised myself that the next time I had a child, I would be married. I married at 31, but underneath it all was another truth: I was afraid to try again.
